Access your data quickly using Alteryx. Using just one programme, you’ll be able to combine and blend data, create advanced analyses and do reporting.

Are you tired of those endless routines in Excel or SQL? Many companies use a huge number of man-hours just sorting, organising and streamlining data from various data sources, so it can be prepared and presented. It’s a long, slow process. With Alteryx, you can compress the process that would normally involve several weeks’ work into just a few hours. Thanks to an intuitive drag & drop workflow, you can now retrieve, process, clean and blend data from many different sources – with no coding required.

What is Alteryx?

Alteryx is a software programme that can help you sort and combine data from various data sources, ready for analysis. This can include any type of data, from internal documents to material from data warehouses, data from third parties to cloud-based data; such as social media applications, big data platforms or other SAAS platforms. Normally, this type of data collection takes time, a lot of it, and involves a lot of people. With Alteryx, you can cut out this step altogether. Alteryx is able to work across data sources, and this programme will do away with the lengthy process of building up large, inflexible data warehouses, as we did previously. The programme allows even non-programmers to work with advanced data, lightening the load on your programmers!

More about Alteryx

Alteryx Designer helps you sort, organize and streamline your data without you having to programme anything. It doesn’t matter where the data comes from. Alteryx Designer can read all of the coding languages. This means that it will take you less time to retrieve and organize data, so you can spend more time analysing your data and exploring it, giving free reign to your curiosity.
Alteryx Server allows you to automate processes on a number of levels. The server allows you to schedule Alteryx Workflows, so your analysts will have more time at their disposal to carry out more advanced analyses. The server also allows you to build stand-alone applications, which non-technical users can access from a browser. These applications can also be accessed through automatically-generated API’s, thereby providing a platform for all data-driven processes in the company.
If Tableau is the best front-end tool we’ve found, then Alteryx is definitely the best system to handle back-office functions, so the combination of the two is ideal. Where Alteryx falls short on visualizations, Tableau can take over, and when Tableau complains about unsorted data, Alteryx just shrugs and gets on with the job! If Tableau is PowerPoint, then Alteryx is Excel, but a better version of it. Tableau and Alteryx are each other’s better half!
Alteryx has two primary goals; the first is to prepare and report data. The second is to support advanced statistical formulas, so the need for technical know-how or programming is eliminated. The only thing you need to provide is a healthy dose of curiosity and questions to put to your data. Using the drag & drop-functions, you can describe and predict a given outcome. You can also use geographical data to a much greater degree than you could before. This opens up a whole new range of opportunities by allowing you to make decisions backed up by solid data.
