You can make a PowerPoint slide in tableau
Well not exactly - but you can however make a dashboard where you will not be able to see the difference.
I would love if everybody shared their reports (and allowed me to share mine) online using Tableau. However, sometimes I still need to make PowerPoint slides that will eventually be printed as a report. Often I make the report in collaboration with other employees, that still prefer to use PowerPoint. When that happens I have a couple of options:
1) I can copy paste data from Tableau to Excel and link that to PowerPoint
-Cumbersome? Yes. Manual errors? Possible..
2) I can make the charts in Tableau and copy/paste the pictures
-but with tons of slide each month, that is not very convenient
3) I can use the LiveWeb plugin, where the server URL is embedded in the presentation
-I never use that option. The slides can not be printed and the receiver needs access to our Tableau server
4) I can make slides in Tableau by tweaking the dashboard size, print them as PDF and merge them with the PowerPoint slides also printed as PDF-The great thing about this solution is that everybody can find my slides online also (and will always contain the most updated data!).

How to Tweak a tableau Dashboard to Look like a Powerpoint Slide:
Set the dashboard size to exactly w:960 and h:720
In File -> Page setup, set the margins to zero and make sure it does not scale
When you print your dashboard (File->Print to PDF) make sure to pick "Unspecified" paper size and "Landscape"
The last thing to do is to make the dashboard follow your company standard. It can be done by trail and error and by using the dashboard coordinates for position and size, to make it exactly the same.
